The movie depicts lesbian sexuality from a male perspective and has been questioned by critics. The film unanimously landed the Palme d’Or from the official jury at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Adèle is a teenager who discovers freedom and desire when Emma, a prospective artist meets her. The movie displays the relationship of Adèle (Exachopoulos) and Emma (Léa Seydoux) from their high school years to early adult life. Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exachopoulos delivered an outstanding performance as the lead role. It is an adaptation of a famous book with the same name.
